Elxis 5.0 Uranus introduces the fifth generation of Elxis CMS and a full modernization of it. The administration interface redesigned and became compatible to mobile devices and tablets. The new interface is faster, smarter and easier to use. Some times it is fun working with Elxis 5.x, for instance when playing with the new itemstatus form element. Elxis default installation does not use jQuery anymore. It is built on HTML5, CSS3 and pure Javascript. We are very proud of our new version and we encourage you to try it. Below you will find the full change log containing a summary of the things changed in comparison to the previous (4.6) release.

Most important changes, fixes and additions in Elxis 5.0 Uranus in comparison to Elxis 4.6 Phaethon.
- Brand new administration User Interface (UI) fully compatible to mobile devices
- New administration template named Onyx
- The new user interface uses no jQuery or other big third party library. We replaced jQuery with code developed by Elxis Team with standard javascript, CSS and HTML5.
- Flex grid tables replaced by data tables
- New modal windows replaces popups and lightbox windows.
- New form generation library (elxis5Form). The old elxisForm library kept for backwards compatibility with old third party extensions. The new elxis5Form library has the same methods and parameters as elxisForm, plus a few new, but generates different HTML.

- During install Elxis repository and administration folders are automatically been renamed (for improved security). Also the installer generates automatically htaccess/webconfig files.
